Vucic: Security problems in Balkans to be discussed at Sofia conference

SOFIA - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday evening he would attend an Aqaba Process Balkan security conference for heads of state and government in Sofia on Friday.

He said the Chatham House conference would enable participants to speak openly about all issues.

"Tomorrow, we will have that security summit, where we will discuss all the challenges we are facing," Vucic told reporters.

He said the global environment, in which he noted it was "not easy to find positive things", would be discussed as well.

"But it is always good when you can hear, find out and learn something to be able to draw good conclusions for your citizens and your people," Vucic noted.

Speaking before a bilateral meeting with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, Vucic said they would discuss advancement of bilateral relations and that he would ask Radev to confirm Bulgaria's participation in EXPO 2027.

"Because we already have 87 countries that have confirmed they will participate in the EXPO," Vucic said.

"This evening I had long conversations with the Croatian president, the Montenegrin president and the president of Slovenia," he added.
