Djuric speaks with Tanzanian FM

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric spoke with Tanzanian FM Mahmoud Thabit Kombo by phone on Friday to discuss cooperation between Serbia and Tanzania.

Djuric noted that the two countries were connected by a traditional friendship dating back from the era of the former Yugoslavia, whose legacy regarding the Non-Aligned Movement is still being cherished by Serbia, the Serbian MFA said in a statement.

He said Serbia was committed to bolstering political, economic and all other ties with African states and that, for that reason, it had declared May 25 as the Day of Friendship with African Nations.

He said strengthening high- and top-level dialogue would lend an additional impetus to deepening the relations between Serbia and Tanzania, and invited his counterpart, who has already visited Belgrade as Tanzania's non-resident ambassador, to also come to Serbia in his current capacity.

Djuric said he was especially pleased Tanzania had confirmed it would participate in the specialised EXPO 2027 in Belgrade.
