At least 51 people have been reported dead after flash floods swept through villages in Spain, derailing a train near Malaga.

The death toll has risen to 51 following flash floods sweeping the eastern Spanish region of Valencia after torrential rains left roads and towns under water.

Local authorities in the region urged residents to avoid any kind of road travel and to follow further updates from official sources.
