MUNICH - Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanovic is through to the round of sixteen at the Munich ATP tournament after a 6-2, 6-7 (2-7), 7-6 (11-9) victory over world number 45 Marcos Giron of the US in the opening round on Monday.
Kecmanovic, who is 48th in the ATP rankings, won after two hours and 55 minutes of play and is now 3-2 head-to-head against the American.
Kecmanovic will next face the winner of the tie between Czech Jiri Lehecka and Italian Luciano Darderi.
The prize money in Munich is 2.5 mln euros.
