Vucic, Swiss president discuss economic ties, bilateral cooperation

BERNE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with Swiss President Viola Amherd in Zurich on Thursday to discuss advancement of bilateral cooperation, strengthening of economic ties and current global challenges.

"We can still work a lot more on boosting trade. I am very happy that today we are to receive the confirmation that Switzerland will take part in EXPO 2027," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.

He added that the meeting had addressed opportunities for boosting economic relations, especially when it comes to investments, innovation and sustainable development.

"We also touched upon cooperation in education, science and technology, and we discussed joint work on projects contributing to green transition and energy efficiency. We exchanged views on good governance and rule of law," Vucic noted.

He added that he had thanked Switzerland for its constructive support for Serbia's EU integration as well as for the country's development, and highlighted the importance of dialogue and partnership in strengthening regional stability.
