BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic said on Friday a blockade of national public broadcaster RTS had demonstrated neverending violence, devoted, absurd sadism and torture, insults, harassment and targeting of people - above all, women - and denial of the right to work, as well as suppression of any dissenting opinions.
"That is what the blockaders have left us with," Brnabic posted on X, in a reaction to a post by sports commentator Smiljan Banjac in which he made a derogatory statement about a female RTS presenter.
Brnabic noted that what was going on outside the RTS buildings in Belgrade was a violation of Article 149 of the Penal Code.
"So much for their desire for rule of law, media freedoms, justice and institutions. They ride bicycles, walk and run, but it seems that they cannot get away from the urge for violence. The decent, majority Serbia will triumph. The one that really believes in law, justice and institutions that are doing their job," Brnabic wrote in the post.
