BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday evening he was planning to meet with US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin as soon as possible.
"I have spoken with many other leaders from around the world and I am planning to meet with both President Trump and President Putin, as soon as possible. At the same time, I am very grateful, endlessly grateful to (Slovak) PM (Robert) Fico and (Hungarian) PM (Viktor) Orban for the brotherly support. What they have said is not said every day," Vucic said in an appearance at Pink TV.
He said messages of support from Fico and Orban reflected endless trust, support and friendship.
"And I hope that one day I will be able to repay them in the same way they have expressed support for me. But when I say they expressed support for me, it is a selfish and slightly arrogant thing to say. They expressed support for Serbia, for a prosperous but, above all, free and freedom-loving Serbia, an independent Serbia," Vucic said.
That is the Serbia they are counting on and the Serbia they want to see, Vucic said.
"I want to believe that is the Serbia the citizens of our country want to see. But endless thanks to them (Fico and Orban) for that," Vucic said.
