Vucevic speaks with East Sarajevo mayor, expresses Serbia's support

EAST SARAJEVO - Serbia's caretaker PM Milos Vucevic, who is on a two-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, met in East Sarajevo on Thursday with Mayor Ljubisa Cosic and the municipal heads of East New Sarajevo and East Ilidza.

The meeting was also attended by Republika Srpska PM Radovan Viskovic.

Vucevic said he was pleased to be in East Sarajevo, which he noted was a city that had emerged amid hardship and was a proof of the survival of Serbs in the region.

"You have the support of Serbia, its Government and the state leadership," Vucevic noted.

A Serbian delegation headed by Vucevic was greeted by Viskovic and Cosic and given the traditional bread-and-salt welcome.

Later, Vucevic visited the University of East Sarajevo and met with its Rector Milan Kulic, noting that the university was a cornerstone of the Serbs' survival.

"The University of East Sarajevo is the successor of everything that Serbs as an autochthonous people represent in Sarajevo," Vucevic said.

The meeting with Kulic was also attended by Serbian Minister of Culture Nikola Selakovic.
