Vucevic meets with chairman of US Senate Foreign Relations Committee

BELGRADE - Serbia is strategically committed to strengthen its cooperation with the US in all areas and to the benefit of the people of the two countries, Serbian PM Milos Vucevic said at a meeting with the chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Damian Murphy in Belgrade on Monday.

Vucevic noted that, in the past twelve years, Serbia had been working intensively on boosting its relations with the US, especially in the context of regional stability, the fight against terrorism and economic development, and that it would continue to do so in the future.

He said preservation of stability in the region and strengthening of regional cooperation was a crucial interest of Serbia, the Serbian government said in a statement.

Vucevic said he was pleased with the signing of an agreement on cooperation with the US in the energy sector, energy stability and implementation of the Green Agenda being important priorities for Serbia.

He said Serbia was interested in attracting US investment, and invited US companies to take part in the specialised Expo 2027 as an exceptional opportunity to promote Serbia and its market.

Murphy said the US provided support on security and regional stability as well as on initiatives contributing to peace and stability in the region and on Serbia's EU integration process.
