Prime Minister Milos Vucevic said on Dec. 16 that in the eyes of the Government of Serbia the issue of student demands had been resolved, as, according to him, all requests made by "a portion of students" blocking university faculties across the country had been fulfilled.

Following a meeting with representatives of the Student Conference of Serbian Universities (SKONUS) in Belgrade, Vucevic said that all the demands voiced during the student blockades had been met, including the release of documents related to the reconstruction of the Novi Sad Railway Station and increasing the budget for the operational expenses of Serbian faculties.

"For us, the issue of protest demands is closed. We have fulfilled everything that was demanded by the organizers of the protests. Anything further is purely political," the prime minister said during a press conference at the Government of Serbia.

Vucevic also stated that "several thousand" pages of documents had been released regarding the reconstruction of the Novi Sad Railway Station, where 15 people were killed and two seriously injured when on Nov. 1 the outside concrete canopy collapsed. The Serbian PM also said that two ministers, their deputies, and directors of public enterprises had resigned over the incident, the prosecutor’s office processed 13 individuals, 10 were in custody, and more than 100 people had been questioned.
