PRISTINA - Srpska lista officials filed on Friday an appeal against a decision by Pristina's central election commission on the composition of electoral boards for the February 9 elections in Kosovo-Metohija.
In a statement posted on social media networks, Srpska lista said the appeal, filed with an election complaints panel, was due to an attempt by the commission to prevent the Serb party from equal participation in electoral boards and monitoring of the electoral process.
Srpska lista official Igor Simic said earlier in the day the commission's decision on the composition of electoral boards drastically violated electoral rules and jeopardised the legality, legitimacy and democratic character of the February 9 elections, and noted that the decision was drastically unfair on Srpska lista.
At a press conference in Kosovska Mitrovica, Simic said the decision denied Srpska lista the possibility to oversee the legality of the elections and absolutely violated the commission's own rule under which the electoral boards must reflect the ethnic composition on the ground.
