Ana Brnabic (The Government of Serbia/Slobodan Miljevic)
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen “deeply respects” Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic and, during her recent visit to Belgrade, canceled her meeting with him due to the strong pressures she was subject to, Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic said on Oct. 28.
The statement, provided for Happy TV, did not specify the kind of pressures in question.
On Oct. 25, Von der Leyen refused her scheduled sit-down with Vucevic, who met with Russia’s Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov earlier in the day.
According to Brnabic, “such things” are only tolerated from President Alexandar Vucic, because he is a “world-class statesman.”
