The deputy president of the Freedom and Justice Party, Borko Stefanovic, stated on Nov. 20 that the opposition would not stop organizing protests or give up on the demand for those responsible for the tragedy at the Novi Sad railway station in which 15 people were killed, to be brought to justice.

“We will not give up on our demands. The regime is nervous and that is why the police are being deployed against us, why we are being beaten and why the MPs are being shoved around. They are attempting to hide their responsibility for death in Novi Sad. That is their responsibility and they cannot escape it,” Stefanovic told reporters in front of the court and prosecution in Novi Sad.

He added that, under the regime of Aleksandar Vucic, the whole of Serbia was “actually under a concrete canopy” and that “the regime is now trying to cover up the crime.” “The regime is nervous, but they will not escape responsibility. You cannot hide from the fact that you have robbed and aggrieved this country and this city.

Police in full riot gear made several attempts to push dozens of opposition MPs and councilpersons away from the entrance to the building of the court and prosecution. They, in return, counter-attacked and tried to push the police back into the building. A cordon of the Gendarmerie then appeared at the entrance from the inside, also in full riot gear.
