More than 1,000 university professors have expressed their support for student protests and demands in a public letter sent on Jan. 5, and the list of signatories keeps growing.
"Dear citizens of Serbia, we, the teachers, fellows and researchers of universities across Serbia stand resolutely by our students in the common fight for a better society," the professors of Serbian universities said.
They condemned in the strongest terms any attempt by the regime to intimidate students by publicly releasing their private information, spreading lies about them and sending police and Security and Information Agency agents to their homes and the homes of their parents.
"We hereby again urge the responsible agencies to do their jobs with responsibility and conscientiousness," the teachers said.
