BELGRADE - Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali met with Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov on Tuesday to discuss concrete ways of cooperation on important projects, above all, in the energy sector.
In an Instagram post, Mali announced an Azerbaijani delegation was due to visit Belgrade in the second half of December and that he and Jabbarov had expressed readiness to sign a MoU during the visit.
Mali noted that building a 500 MW gas-steam plant in Nis as part of an energy infrastructure development plan until 2028 - agreed by the presidents of Serbia and Azerbaijan, Aleksandar Vucic and Ilham Aliyev - was the most important project discussed at the meeting.
"In the coming period, we will step up our cooperation to agree the implementation of this important project successfully," Mali wrote in the post, adding that he and Jabbarov had agreed the project was very significant for both countries.
