Kozarev receives Beninese minister of sport

BELGRADE - Caretaker State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dusan Kozarev met with Beninese Minister of Sport Benoit Dato on Thursday, noting that sport, as an area of national importance for both countries, was an excellent platform for further advancement of all other forms of bilateral cooperation, especially in education, culture and the economy.

Kozarev pointed out the mutual understanding and the similar values shared by the Serbs and African nations, noting Serbia's historical support for Africa's liberation from colonialism.

Kozarev informed Dato of Serbia's dynamic development, successful infrastructure projects and plans for the future laid out by President Aleksandar Vucic and the Government of Serbia, whose implementation is being spurred on in the international arena by a diplomatic network led by Serbian FM Marko Djuric.

Kozarev noted that the international EXPO 2027 in Belgrade would be a true opportunity for Benin to showcase its rich culture and sports tradition, the Serbian MFA said in a statement.

The parties agreed that both Serbia and Benin had a desire for substantial advancement of their citizens' living standards through capital investments in comprehensive modernisation while remaining committed to the principles of independence in foreign policy and equality in international relations.
