Green-Left Front
The opposition party Green-Left Front requested on Dec. 18 that the police and prosecution for cybercrime investigated the threats that have been sent to several of their members, claiming that they were being exposed to intimidation because they publicly voiced their opposition to the “criminal Progressives’ octopus that is destroying our society.”
In the statement, the party said that the threats had been sent to member of the provincial assembly Tamara Maksic and member of the assembly of the Belgrade municipality of Obrenovac, Aleksandar Velickovic.
“The Serbian Progressive Party, using the media as leverage, is trying to turn the society into a lynch mob, to jeopardize the security and lives of people in the country where violence has been normalized. Informer’s false information about Tamara Maksic having threatened the members from the ruling majority in the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina by saying ‘You are all set for a train to Jasenovac’ was followed by a deluge of monstrous threats, delivered by Vucic’s followers,” the statement reads.
The Green-Left Front stated that it stood beside its members, activists and all citizens who raise their voice against the regime “of bloodied hands” and that they would not abandon the fight and the demand for those who resort to threats to be discovered and punished. He added that the party would protect anyone targeted by the regime.
