BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric spoke with Hungarian Deputy PM Zsolt Semjen in Belgrade on Tuesday, noting that he saw the partnership with Hungary as an alliance for the future and that Serbia-Hungary relations were likely at an all-time high.
Djuric said he was pleased with the high level of strategic cooperation between Serbia and Hungary and added that the two countries had much space for further deepening of cooperation - economically, politically and in terms of security.
He said Serbia stood ready to find joint answers to some present as well as future challenges together with Hungarian friends.
"Regardless of the challenges, I am confident that better times are ahead for Serbia and Hungary," said Djuric, whose meeting with Semjen also addressed the internal situation in Serbia, positive experiences in the cooperation with the diaspora, as well as the situation in the region.
Djuric and Semjen said they were especially pleased with the political and all other forms of treatment of the Serb community in Hungary and the Hungarian minority in Serbia, and Djuric noted that Serbia was always ready to even take a step further to create the best possible conditions for the preservation of the ethnic Hungarians' cultural and national identity.
The parties also discussed a series of international topics and noted that the friendly Serbia-Hungary relations had also attained a strong practical dimension amid new geopolitical circumstances as the citizens of both countries were seeing specific benefits from the improving bilateral cooperation in various fields.
Djuric said Serbia and Hungary had a high degree of agreement on many strategic issues.
