Democratic Party Urges Opposition Parties, Organizations To Come Together

On Dec. 24, the Democratic Party called on all political organizations, parties, citizen groups, citizens’ initiatives and individuals to join their campaign titled “Mass Gathering”, which should enable restoring trust in democratic values in Serbia and creating a political alternative.

The oldest opposition party in Serbia said that opposition fragmentation was hindering the efforts to take an efficient action.

“Gathering around the Democratic Party will also be a step toward creating a common platform that will provide for a better articulation of citizens’ interests, increases opposition visibility and improve prospects of its electoral success. Also, it will establish a united front against the authoritarian regime,” the party said in a statement.
