BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said on Monday Serbia would be a country with an even better future in 2025 and that it was on the right track and ready to utilise all its potentials to build a better future for its citizens.
"Serbia will be a country that will succeed in creating a secure, stable and just society that will be ready to accept all the challenges of the future, as well as to seize all the opportunities it offers. Serbia will be a country that will not just wait for changes to happen but work actively on being a part of solutions to global challenges," Dacic said at the opening of the World in 2025 conference, hosted by Color Media Group at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.
He said he believed that, next year, Serbia would be a country that would be even more proud of its progress and its people.
"We stand at an important crossroads, not only as a nation that is fighting numerous challenges, but also as a country that has a clear vision of a better and more secure future," Dacic said.
He said the world of today faced constant change but that security remained the fundamental pillar of stability and peace, as well as a foundation for development of other sectors, such as the economy and health care.
"There are more and more global crises, which calls for an integrated approach. From climate change, migration and cyber-attacks that know no boundaries, to new types of terrorism and crime that use modern technologies," Dacic said.
Along with traditional forms of crime, there are also occurrences of digital crime, such as misuse of artificial intelligence, he noted.
