Vucic: Interpol arrest warrant would bring us close to complete disaster in BiH

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday evening an Interpol arrest warrant for Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and Parliament Speaker Nenad Stevandic would "bring us close to a complete disaster in Bosnia and Herzegovina" and that finding a compromise was the only possible solution.

Vucic was commenting on Sarajevo's request for an Interpol international arrest warrant for Dodik and Stevandic.

"We have already acted in line with the fact that Dodik and Stevandic are Serbian citizens and we have sent a note saying that these are typical political cases and that the international arrest warrant should be suspended. It will take a few days for them (Interpol) to respond to us, and then we will face the fact that our request has either been granted or rejected," Vucic told the RTS.

"I believe that finding a compromise solution is the only possible option for Banjaluka, Sarajevo and the international community, but if that does not happen, we will be close to a complete disaster. I do not see that there is will for that and I fear a complete disaster, because once a red Interpol arrest warrant is issued, there are countless problems facing us on a daily basis," Vucic said.
