BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday evening he expected no KFOR reaction after a group of heavily armed members of the so-called Kosovo Police crossed the administrative line between central Serbia and the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija, but that he expected the US to react.
"I expect no reaction whatsoever, except that I expect a reaction from the Americans. The Americans know (Pristina's PM Albin) Kurti ordered that on purpose. He expected that those people would be liquidated and that that would be the reason to get NATO into a conflict with Serbia," Vucic told the RTS in response to a question whether he had appealed to KFOR to avert an escalation of violence in the province and what kind of reaction he expected from the international force.
Next time, the authorities will react in line with full rules of engagement, he said.
Earlier, the Serbian Ministry of Defence condemned the illegal crossing of the administrative line near the village of Cirkovice and said it was a dangerous provocation and a threat to peace.
