BELGRADE - Serbia's caretaker PM Milos Vucevic said on Tuesday he expected positive responses from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) to a Serbian request for an independent investigation into alleged use of a sound cannon during Saturday's protest in Belgrade.
"This needs to be initiated at international level - this evening President (Aleksandar) Vucic will say what we have undertaken at that level. I expect positive responses and they will have full assistance to conduct an independent investigation," Vucevic said on Informer TV.
Commenting on claims a sound cannon was used at the protest, Vucevic said establishing the truth was the most important matter.
"The narrative that people went to see a doctor after 36 hours is pointless for one reason - the effect is immediate. It is not radiation, where you would feel the negative effects subsequently. Effects such as nausea and disorientation would have been felt immediately. Had it (a sound cannon) been used, it would have been heard in the wider Belgrade area, within a 5 km radius," Vucevic said.
This indicates that this is a dangerous and perfidious spin and a lie aimed at covering up the "fiasco of the March 15 gathering" and fueling new protests, he said.
