Stojkovic: Ilic to skip Switzerland and Denmark games, Grujic, Jovic in doubt

STARA PAZOVA - The head coach of the Serbia men's national football team Dragan Stojkvoic said on Monday several of his players had injury problems ahead of UEFA Nations League matches against Switzerland and Denmark, and noted that he had known November would be the "month of truth" for his team.

"Due to injuries, Predrag Rajkovic and Veljko Birmancevic were omitted from the preliminary squad list," Stojkovic told a press conference in Stara Pazova near Belgrade.

"Two days ago, Ivan Ilic started the game against Juventus and injured a hamstring, so he has been relieved of his duties," he added.

"Luka Jovic, Filip Mladenovic and Marko Grujic will join the team but are in doubt for the upcoming two games due to injuries. In Switzerland, we will not be able to count on Nikola Milenkovic and Strahinja Erakovic, who are suspended. On the other hand, the return of Dusan Vlahovic is a big plus for us," Stojkovic also said.

"At the beginning of the Nations League, we knew Spain are unrivalled in our group and that the November matches against Denmark and Switzerland would be the matches of truth for us. We are pleased to be able to decide about our own destiny in the last two games," Stojkovic added.
