Expo 2027
On Dec. 6 Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic received the flag of the specialized international Expo 2027 exhibition at a ceremony in Belgrade's Sava Center on behalf of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
He was presented with the flag by Expo company director Dusan Borovcanin, who received the Expo flag in Paris on Nov. 26. The flag will be kept at the Serbian Presidency building. According to earlier announcements, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was due to accept the flag.
Vucevic said the Expo was an opportunity for Serbia to show all of its potential. "Today is a great day for Serbia. This flag is proof of enormous success. This is a great honor and responsibility. This is a turning point in our overall development. This flag is the result of a job well done," Vucevic said.
The flag is presented to countries hosting the Expo events after the general assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions adopts a recognition dossier, the most important document used as the basis for organizing, executing and building the exhibition. The flag is also a condition before Serbia can officially begin to invite countries to take part in the Expo. The Expo 2027 specialized exhibition in Belgrade will last from May 15 to Aug. 15, under the slogan Play for Humankind.
