Serbia draw with Denmark, miss out on UEFA Nations League quarter-finals

LESKOVAC - The Serbia men's national football team has failed to qualify for the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals after drawing 0-0 with Denmark at home in a Group A4 Match Day 6 game in Leskovac on Monday evening.

Dusan Vlahovic, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Andrija Zivkovic missed several chances to score and referee Felix Zwayer rejected calls for a penalty for Serbia after an apparent handball in the Danish penalty box in the 2nd minute.

On the other hand, Serbia goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic produced two fantastic saves.

Serbia finished the game with ten men after Strahinja Pavlovic was sent off for picking up a second yellow card.

In the other Group A4 match, Spain defeated Switzerland 3-2.

Spain are on top of the group table with 16 points and are followed by Denmark with eight, Serbia with six and Switzerland with two points.

To stay in Nations League A, Serbia - who drew 1-1 with Switzerland away last weekend - will play a second-placed Nations League B team in the play-offs in March.

The draw for the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals and the play-offs is scheduled for Friday.
