BELGRADE - The Serbia men's national football team beat Austria 2-0 at home in the second leg of the UEFA Nations League playoffs on Sunday evening to stay in the competition's division A.
The first leg in Vienna ended in a 1-1 draw.
In front of over 15,000 spectators at Belgrade's Rajko Mitic Stadium, Nemanja Maksimovic put Serbia in the lead in the 56th minute following a clumsy reaction by the Austria defence.
It was Maksimovic's first-ever goal for the senior national team.
Austria were a man down from the 68th minute, when Gernot Trauner was sent off for a foul on Stefan Mitrovic.
Dusan Vlahovic made it 2-0 in the 90th minute after an excellent counter-attack and an assist from Luka Jovic.
