The speaker of Croatia’s Sabor (parliament), Gordan Jandrokovic, stated in Mostar on Nov. 28 that if the three nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not constitutive and equal, there will be no Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“I believe that the concept of three constitutive and equal nations will ultimately prevail because it seems to me that, if that does not exist, neither will Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Jandrokovic told reporters after a meeting with the mayor of Mostar, Mario Kordic.
He said he was convinced that the European path would strengthen that concept and principles but not, as he said, at the expense of sovereignty and functionality of Bosnia and Herzegovina – rather the opposite. “It is very important for us that Bosnia and Herzegovina is stable and functional, a country of three constitutive and equal nations. That is the foundation on which Bosnia lies and we always point that out in Croatia, because the survival of Croats in Bosnia is important to us, as well as the good functioning of the country and its European path,” Jandrokovic said.
In his words, Croatia could help Bosnia on its European path the most, since it had the knowledge and experience from its process of EU accession. He added that Bosnia’s integration with the EU would be a guarantee of security and stability for the whole of Europe.
