PKS: Leading Chinese innovation park plans to open business centre in Serbia

BEIJING - China's Suzhou Innovation Park is considering setting up a business centre in Serbia for Chinese companies wishing to develop operations and offer innovative solutions to foreign markets as well as to cooperate with Serbian companies in exchanging know-how and advanced technologies.

The announcement was made on Thursday in Beijing at a meeting between Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (PKS) President Marko Cadez and a Sozhou delegation headed by the tech hub's executive Gina Zheng.

"The PKS, too, is interested in hosting a showroom for Serbian products and companies in this innovation supercluster with a population of around 1.3 million and around 100,000 companies. These are really the first big steps towards connecting our innovation ecosystems," Cadez said.

He noted that an agreement had been reached for a PKS delegation to visit Suzhou in late February with a view to preparing a business forum on innovation to be held in Serbia in April, during a visit by the Suzhou president.

The Suzhou Innovation Park, situated in the city of the same name in China's Jiangsu province, has become one of the most successful and most renowned zones of economic development in China.

Known for its advanced infrastructure, strategic planning and a strong focus on innovation and technology, it already has 12 centres worldwide, the PKS said in a statement.
