Orlic: Attempt of coloured revolution failed, we have preserved peace, stability

BELGRADE - An attempt of a coloured revolution in Serbia has failed, Security and Information Agency Director Vladimir Orlic said at a session of a parliamentary committee overseeing Serbia's security agencies.

"Those who attempted to break down the state have failed, and we will make sure to provide peace, stability and security to all because what we are fighting for is worth every effort - this is about Serbia," Orlic said at the session, called to discuss the March 15 protest in Belgrade and events in the days that preceded and followed the protest.

An attempted coloured revolution was thwarted in a timely manner, Orlic said, adding that he was pleased a planned and announced escalation of violence had not taken place.

"We cannot say we are happy and pleased when the day ended with over 50-60 injured people, we cannot be happy when we have unbridled destruction of private property..., ...or when we witness attacks on police officers, but we have preserved peace, stability and ensured security, and that is the most important thing," Orlic said.

Those who are dissatisfied with the results of an attempted coloured revolution have tried to conduct a dirty campaign by insinuating that there was some kind of sound cannon at the protest, he said.
