BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic spoke on Monday with Danish Minister for European Affairs Marie Bjerre, who noted that future EU enlargement was important and that Denmark saw Serbia in the EU and that Serbia's EU membership would strengthen the bloc.
Highlighting Serbia's commitment to EU integration, Brnabic asked for Denmark's support in implementation of necessary reforms and noted that opening Cluster 3 in the EU talks would be a major motivating factor for Serbia, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia said in a statement.
The parties pointed out the significance of Denmark's Council of the EU presidency in the second half of 2025, focusing on Serbia's priority foreign policy goal - EU membership.
The discussion topics also included parliamentary cooperation as well as opportunities for experience-sharing with Denmark in environmental protection, digitalisation, science, research and AI, which could help boost the relations between the two countries and economic development, the statement said.
