Vucic, Macron speak by phone, agree to meet in April

BELGRADE - In a phone call, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and French President Emmanuel Macron have discussed advancement of bilateral relations and agreed to meet in April.

"We discussed all aspects of bilateral cooperation between France and Serbia, as well as the European path of our country. We both noted the significance of further advancement of our relations and, accordingly, we agreed to meet in April this year," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram profile after Sunday's phone call with Macron.

He added that the discussion with Macron had been very good.

"I believe that the friendship and partnership with France brings great benefits to Serbian citizens," Vucic noted.

In a post on X, written in French as well as in Serbian, Macron noted that, during the conversation with Vucic, he had reiterated a desire for Serbia to continue to make progress on its EU path.

"We discussed bilateral topics and made a snapshot in the wake of his recent contacts in Brussels. I reiterated to him my desire for Serbia to continue to make progress on its European path," he wrote.
