BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on Sunday evening Djuro Macut, a doctor of medicine, would be PM-designate.
Vucic said a new government would be elected by Good Friday and that it would face difficult tasks: opposing all pressure regarding the regional policy, solving the issue of US tariffs, accelerating the EU accession path while preserving traditional friendships in the East and restoring the level of foreign and domestic investments.
"Continuing to preserve peace and stability and acting tolerantly and patiently will be a big task for the new government," he said.
"The government needs to have a clear commitment to the future and our desire and intent is to put Serbia back on the winner's pedestal and make it the fastest-growing economy by the end of the year," Vucic also said.
