Vucic: Any attempt to arrest Dodik would be catastrophic for entire region

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday evening the situation in the region, especially the political situation in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, was very difficult and that any decision to attempt an arrest of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik would be catastrophic for the entire region, including Serbia.

In a public address from the Palace of Serbia, Vucic said that, for that reason, it was necessary to preserve peace and refrain from taking precipitate measures.

"Because any decision to attempt an arrest of Milorad Dodik would, in our opinion, be catastrophic for the entire region and, certainly, Serbia," Vucic said.

Commenting on Sarajevo's request to Belgrade to question Dodik over "some house in Dedinje from 15 or 20 years ago," Vucic said it would be a great disgrace for Serbia to take part in an arrest of Dodik and "do the dirty work for all those who want to destroy the Serbs and Srpska."
