VRDNIK - Opening the ORACLE SaaS Vision 2025 conference in Vrdnik near Novi Sad, Serbia's caretaker PM Milos Vucevic said Oracle would help the country to attract foreign investment.
"Serbia is the only country in this part of Europe that has such a data centre (an Oracle data centre in Kragujevac), which is a result of great efforts and work, and Ana Brnabic was the first to understand the importance of such an office. We are moderately optimistic about this helping us to continue to attract foreign investment," Vucevic said at the conference, hosted by the Fruske Terme Hotel.
He noted that the cooperation with Oracle, established in 2018, was one of Serbia's strategic interests.
"I will take the liberty to say Oracle is one of the most prestigious companies in America, one that has kept up with the trends and geopolitical decisions there, and if Serbia wants to position itself better..., ...it is a fact that Oracle provides additional strength for better cooperation with Washington," Vucevic said.
He added that Serbia would continue to develop the Kragujevac data centre, which he noted was the biggest investment in terms of infrastructure and human resources.
