“Death doesn’t like it when you mess with its plans.” The new trailer for the upcoming sixth instalment in the Final Destination franchise has become the second most viewed horror film trailer of all time.
It all began 25 years ago, so it makes sense that the Final Destination franchise returns this year, just in time for its quarter-century anniversary.
Its sixth instalment, which stars the late Tony Todd in his final big screen role as William Bludworth, hits theatres in May and the trailer for Final Destination: Bloodlines has just become the second most viewed horror film trailer of all time - breaking a 24-hour record set by 28 Years Later.
According to a report by Deadline, the clip achieved 178.7million views in 24 hours across all platforms worldwide, second only to 2017’s IT in terms of viewership, and surpassing the total achieved by 28 Years Later.

Have you ever been so nervous about ice, a trampoline and a lawnmower?
Final Destination: Bloodlines was announced last December, and its release date comes 14 years after the previous instalment, Final Destination 5. We’ll presumably be treated to another set of elaborate freak accidents - including a tattoo needle to the eye if the posters are to be believed – as well as a hapless bunch trying to escape Death’s design and dealing with one of the horror genre’s most beloved themes: intergenerational trauma.
“Good luck,” as Todd says in his inimitable and much-missed baritone.
Final Destination: Bloodlines is scheduled for release on 15 and 16 May in most European territories.
