A massive crowd of well-wishers turned out last night as the Marrakech International Film Festival paid a glowing tribute to legendary Moroccan actress, Naïma Elmcherqui who died in October.
A key figure in Morocco’s cinema, theatre, and television scene, her daughter Yasmine Khaya led the ceremony praising her mother's "social engagement", adding "she did a lot to promote and empower Moroccan women, youth, and children."
