Russian drone attacks kill nine in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region

The Russian army launched another massive attack on Ukrainian cities overnight on Tuesday, with strikes carried out in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

A Russian kamikaze drone attack in Marhanets in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region has killed nine people and injured at least 30, according to preliminary data, the head of the regional military administration said.

"The enemy attack claimed nine lives. Condolences to relatives and friends. The number of injured is constantly growing. According to information at the moment, there are 30. The aggressor hit a kamikaze drone on the bus with employees of the enterprise", said Dnipropetrovsk governor Serhiy Lysak.

The Ukrainian State Emergency Service specified that the bus was hit by a Russian FPV drone. The service published photos from the scene of the impact, showing the punctured roof of the bus, the dead and wounded inside the vehicle.

Other Ukrainian regions targeted

In Poltava, six more people were injured in another overnight Russian attack. Three of them are hospitalised, and one person was seriously injured, local authorities said.

"There is damage and destruction as a result of falling debris and direct hits," acting regional head Volodymyr Kogut wrote in his Telegram channel.

Russian troops also destroyed one of the key enterprises of the energy infrastructure in Kherson, according to the region's governor, Oleksandr Prokudin.

Prokudin said emergency workers are doing "everything possible and impossible" to stabilise the energy situation in the city.

"I ask everyone to use electricity as economically as possible. In the near future, forced shutdowns are possible," he emphasised.

Officials also said civilian infrastructure was targeted in Odesa and Kharkiv. In Odesa, at least two people were injured when Russian drones hit residential buildings, starting fires.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russia launched 125 airstrikes across Ukraine, dropping 242 guided bombs, firing more than 6,000 shells and engaging some 2,800 kamikaze drones.

Russia has intensified its attacks across Ukraine in recent weeks, even as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed a 30-day truce on strikes against civilian infrastructure.

Putin said Russia would observe a 30-hour unilateral ceasefire on Saturday, but Ukrainian and UK officials said Moscow's attacks continued during the alleged pause.
