Paris recycling plant engulfed in massive fire

A huge fire swept through a recycling centre in central Paris on Monday evening, casting heavy smoke over the French capital's skyline.

The fire erupted at the Syctom waste sorting centre in the 17th arrondissement, prompting a major emergency response.

Around 200 firefighters and 60 fire engines were deployed to contain the flames.

All staff were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. Officials later confirmed that the facility was completely destroyed by the blaze.
