Labovic: Serbia's 2024 foreign exchange revenue from tourism at 2.525 bln euros

BELGRADE - National Tourism Organisation of Serbia Director Marija Labovic says Serbia's foreign exchange revenue from tourism totalled 2.525 bln euros in 2024, making tourism a top service export sector for the country.

In a statement to Tanjug on Thursday, Labovic said tourist visits in Europe had bounced back to 2019 levels last year while Serbia had exceeded its 2019 figures by 30 pct.

She said Serbia had welcomed 2.4 mln foreign tourists last year, registering 4.4 mln tourist visits and 12.6 mln overnight stays.

The fact the majority of tourists visiting Serbia come from Russia, Turkey and China is due to the bilateral relations Serbia maintains with those countries, she explained.

"The Air Serbia airline, besides the connection with China as a remote market, also has a connection with America, as well as with more than 90 destinations around the world, which is very important because that is one of the preconditions - who will come, and from where, quite depends on the ease of your accessibility," Labovic said.
