Labovic: Number of US tourists growing in Serbia

BELGRADE/NEW YORK - The National Tourism Organisation of Serbia has taken part in the prestigious New York Travel & Adventure Show, and its Director Marija Labovic notes that the event had been the location of many significant business meetings and contacts with international partners, which she said would contribute to even better performance of the tourism industry.

The number of US tourists is growing in Serbia and the US is the 12th-largest tourism market for Serbia, a statement released by the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia quoted Labovic as saying.

According to the latest figures from the national statistical office, around 50,000 US tourists visited Serbia between January and end-November 2024, generating almost 150,000 overnight stays.

Labovic said the New York trade show had been an exceptional opportunity to promote Serbia's tourism supply, network with potential partners and learn about market trends.

The Serbian booth at the event was also visited by the Serbian Consul-General in New York Vladimir Bozovic and Labovic also met with Montenegrin Tourism Minister Simonida Kordic.

"We discussed joint activities of our two countries in remote markets, above all, China and the US," Labovic said.

The National Tourism Organisation of Serbia participated in the trade show alongside flagship carrier Air Serbia and two tour operators and travel companies.
