The Justice Ministry of Serbia announced on Oct. 31 that it would provide an explanation to particular provisions in the draft,  in the context of the most frequent proposals, objections and suggestions regarding the amendments and supplements to the Criminal Code that have been submitted to the Ministry.

Particularly, these are the provisions on introducing the new crime – publishing content that incites committing a crime, and on removing the crimes of taking a statement under duress and malpractice in public procurement.

The Justice Ministry stated that, as Minister Maja Popovic declared during the public debate, the introduction of the new crime would be the publishing of content that incites the perpetration of crimes of pedophilia, murder, drugs, illegal use of weapons, terrorism, falsifying documents and money.

As for the proposed amendments to the Law on public procurement, the Ministry explained that embezzlement of up to RSD5 million would be treated as a misdemeanor, and as a crime above that sum.
