King Charles III and Queen Camilla made an unexpected stop for Italian ice cream in Rome on Wednesday, greeting crowds gathered near the historic Gelateria Giolitti.
The visit came shortly after the King addressed a joint session of the Italian Parliament. The couple spent time chatting with well-wishers outside the gelateria, just moments from the parliamentary chamber.
Ilana Lelcuk from Israel described shaking the King’s hand as a “once-in-a-lifetime” moment, while Georgina Wilson from the UK said it was “amazing” to exchange a few words with both royals.
