I feel absolutely safe, Vucic says after incident with official car

BELGRADE - Commenting on a recent incident with his official car, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday evening he felt absolutely safe and that his security was in the hands of ultimate professionals.

"They are not people doing any other kind of jobs - let alone on the wrong side of the law, which has historically often been the case with some other people. The army is especially disciplined, it is organised in a different way, the Kobre (Cobras) units are our elite units. I have nothing to worry about there, that is their job - end of story," Vucic said on Pink TV when asked about the incident, which occurred during his trip to Mokrin, northeastern Serbia, on Saturday.

Speaking at a rally in Kikinda later in the day, Vucic said his official car had had a tyre puncture on the way to Mokrin.

However, a source in the Presidency of Serbia confirmed to Tanjug the incident involving the presidential car had not been due to a punctured tyre but that an entire wheel had come off the vehicle.
