Former US President Jimmy Carter has died at 100, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on Sunday.

Carter's son James said his father died at his home in Plains, Georgia but did not give an immediate cause, the Washington Post reported.

Carter was president from 1977-1981 and lived longer after his term in office than any other US president.
