Djuric: Kosovo-Metohija elections could be rigged at expense of Srpska lista

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric said on Wednesday Serbia was committed to dialogue and would insist on fighting for the rights of Serbs in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija, and voiced concern over potential election rigging at the expense of Srpska lista, which has won all ten seats allocated for Serbs in the assembly in Pristina.

Pristina wants to cut all ties between Belgrade and Serbs in the southern province, Djuric told the RTS.

"And it is known that Srpska lista maintains close political cooperation with Belgrade," he noted.

Djuric said few people understood the impossible conditions in which Kosovo-Metohija Serbs had achieved another historic result by winning all the allocated seats in Sunday's elections.

"Now we see what (the head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija) Mr (Petar) Petkovic, too, has been warning of - some strange things are going on at the central election commission there. First, their website allegedly went down, and then physical conflicts occurred," Djuric said.
