Protesters in Buenos Aires clashed with police while demanding higher pensions and opposing President Milei’s austerity measures, which include subsidy cuts, layoffs, and pension freezes.
Demonstrators clashed with police near Argentina’s Congress on Wednesday as they protested President Javier Milei’s austerity measures and demanded higher pensions.
Pensioners, joined by Chacarita fans, continued their weekly march against Milei’s deep budget cuts. Since taking office a year ago, Milei has slashed subsidies, frozen wages and pensions, and laid off thousands of workers to combat Argentina’s economic crisis.
Protesters say their pensions and health plans are inadequate, vowing to continue their Wednesday demonstrations despite growing tensions.
