Brnabic welcomes sale of cable operator SBB

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic on Wednesday welcomed the sale of cable operator SBB, noting that the editorial policy of United Group - which sold the operator to e&PPF Telecom in a 825 mln euro deal earlier in the day - was based on its owner's personal hatred towards Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

"I believe the fact United Group is selling SBB means that Mordor has fallen," Brnabic said on Happy TV, adding that United Group owner Dragan Solak hated Vucic because he had stopped him and opposition leader Dragan Djilas from getting even richer at the expense of Serbian citizens.

"It was never a struggle for values, a better Serbia, professional media and rule of law, but always a struggle for more money for Solak," she said.

"The sale of SBB means that Mordor, and a tower of evil that was casting a grey shadow over Serbia and manipulating a large number of citizens, has fallen," she said.
