BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic said on Sunday evening the fact US President Donald Trump himself had announced that Mark Brnovich would be the next US ambassador to Belgrade was incredibly important.
Asked whether the fact a Serbian-American was to become the new ambassador represented a gesture of good will and what Serbia could expect from that, Brnabic told Pink TV it remained to be seen and that she did not want to speculate, but noted that it was incredibly important that, quite unusually, a US president had devoted so much attention to Serbia by personally announcing the ambassador's nomination.
"I am pleased to announce that Mark Brnovich will be our next United States Ambassador to Serbia," Trump posted on Truth Social three days ago.
